Here are a few layouts I did for swissgirlDesigns. I must admit I have very mixed feelings about these and maybe it’s my ever present insecurity or that I actually did choke a bit under the pressure of having to ‘perform’ (which is definitely something new for me as a scrapper)… I dunno. I do like parts of them and I hope to hit some sort of stride with this type of work real soon. It’s so unreal and awesome to have joined the design team, I guess I’m just nervous. :) So bear with me and my doubtful self. I just needed to write this for some odd reason, lol.
First up is this layout called ‘School’s out’. Around the edge of the page is some journaling about my feelings now that I’ve graduated design school and feel this major weight being lifted off my shoulders. Hence the hot air balloons. :)
Mmm, love those glitter Thickers. And I love the look of the hot air balloons stamped in Robin’s Egg ink by Jenny Bowlin. The detail in those stamps are to die for! And that quote is so inspiring.
Next up is my ‘ABJD’ layout. A couple years ago (and still I guess but not actively) I collected Asian ball-jointed dolls (ABJDs) which you order custom and handmade from Asia, style with eyes, make-up (called ‘faceup’ in this regard). Recently I found my doll in the closet and grabbed a quick couple Instagrams of her.
I used the entire (!!!) Sew Cute stamp set to create this custom patterned paper. Wasn’t really the plan at first but once I got stamping I just kept going. :D The varying size of the stamps in this set are perfect for this technique. I need to do another layout with this cute custom paper.
Last up is the My old man layout. I had picked out the papers for a completely different photo but it just wasn’t coming together at all. Sometimes changing the photo makes it work, as in this case. Love this picture of my husband. <3 He’s got a lot on his mind lately.
I embossed the photo with gold Zing and also added a little gold Pow paper as a layer under it. I wanted the layout to have a warm, masculine and loving feel. Not too playful though. The big stars I cut with Die-namics Star Stax on my Cuttlebug. Very cute and pointy! I like ‘em pointy. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by! I will talk a bit about my project from this past SGD Sunday soon. See you around. :)
