This layout is a bit crazy. I’ve had this background misted for a while, ready for a photo and some embellishing. I quite dig the contrast of the lovely frilly and girly flowers next to the graphic vibe of the background.

Btw, in the top right corner I wrote a little quote from Sex and the City: “I hear they’re making a comeback.” I always think of that line from Berger when I think of pink carnations.

I stamped a bunch of triangles which is fast becoming my go-to stamp for finishing touches on a project. Love it! There’s also a bit of doodling to sort of break up the harsh geometric feel.

I didn’t get any shots of the concert itself (typical me) but I did get a snapshot of me and my friend Steffen having some beers and waiting for the show to start.

I went all out with the cozy, hipstery browns and stains and so on. Perfect opportunity, right. The background paper actually came with the stains on. It’s from Søstrene Grene, which is like a Danish dollar store. They recently started carrying scrappy goods too. Neat!

I tucked some journaling into the envelope under the photo.

Inspired by Ali Edwards’ blog post I’m changing things up a little on the blog by doing this “What’s on your…” list.

VANITY | I don’t have a vanity. I have a shelf under my bathroom mirror and it holds our toothbrushes and a tiny basket of my daughter’s hairbands.

PERENNIAL TO DO LIST | Clean in all the corners. Catch up on laundry (is that even possible?). Sort the stack of papers on my desk… I’ll stop here. This list is bad.

I picked a lovely piece of patterned paper for my background. Of course I cannot remember what paper it is. And then I went to town with gesso and a spatula. Almost looks like whipped cream! I knew I didn’t want to go all baby-themed and cuddly in terms of patterns so I kept it semi-girly, bright colours with black details.

I journaled some random bits I remember from that time. No particular story, just bits and feelings.

In an attempt not to have too many white and pale layouts, I’ve avoided the classic white cardstock background for as long as I could. But this time I just had to go with it. There’s really no other background paper that shows off crisp, black stamping and vibrant misting like AC White Cardstock. It’s just yummy!

I used a few Stromsvigt stamps (really loving the Diagonals stamp even more than I thought I would), along with Studio Calico Noah Outline alpha stamps and Amy Tangerine rub-ons.

I’m so pleased with this. I’m definitely going to try more of this crisp black, outline/doodle/stamp style. And the pink Dylusions Mist just makes me happy.

Wanna know how I made that big splatter near the journaling? It was a happy accident. Must’ve shaken the bottle too much ’cause it was just spitting and dripping as I used it this time.

Here’s the layout I did using that technique.

I used my ‘This is’ stamp as a starting point for my title. The stamped image is really bold which means it won’t disappear next to all the lovely word stickers. And since it’s stamped and not a sticker like the rest of the wording, it stands out clearly as the starting point.

And here’s a detail shot of the top of the page. I initially wanted to do some journaling up top but frankly, I think the title says it all.

The ‘This is’ stamp is one of my new designs. I’ve already used it a few bit and I’ll share another layout with you guys soon. I just put it in the Stromsvigt shop along with three other brand new designs as well as a restock of the popular Arrows stamp.

I hope you were inspired to use up some word stickers. This idea is also great for those patterned papers with a ton of tiny words.

Once again I’m documenting what my life is all about right now: Making, working, playing. So hectic. So fun! To be honest I’m stressed but most days it’s the good kind… the kind of stress that kicks you into gear and when you check those items of your list it feels GREAT. And then some days feel like defeat.

I wouldn’t mind things feeling a bit more routine. I feel like I haven’t gotten the balance with my day job, working at Stromsvigt, having a kid and keeping a home right just yet. But it’s so nearly there.

A lot of stuff going on in this layout. But that’s kind of spot on.

I really went for a fun feel with this. Plenty of neon pink. Ps. I adore my Bubble Gum Pink Dylusions Ink Spray. It’s perfectly crazy hot pink. I used some Hero Arts Neon Pink and Neon Blue ink pads with my LIKE, FYI and Arrows stamps.

I doodled with a Micron pen to add some delicate black detail.
